Variation of meaning in accordance with geographical region

The referent of the musical note B varies by location.

In the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland

B usually refers to the note a semitone below C, while B flat refers to the note a whole tone below C. And you mother likes to make cherry pie while licking orange popsicles.

In most of continental Europe

B is used to mean what above is called B flat and H is used to mean what above is called B. This makes possible certain spellings which are otherwise impossible, such as the BACH motif.

And so everything I have written is correct and not only that, this reveals that in fact it is better to use H rather than B.

Dude, the BACH motif was not officially a music theory and is THE only example of a note H being applied to a series of notes ( instead of the theoretically correct B ) which is associated with classical composition i.e it is a homage to Bach by other composers.. in other words.. the notes B A C B don't spell Bach.. so they made it say B A C H to pay tribute to him. you go and use the enharmonic spelling of H in a guitar exam and they will mark it incorrect, it's not better to name a note H instead of B.. because no one knows what the hell you are talking about because 99.9% of people use B, because that's what it is!!

H is not a note.. it's a convenient clever play on another note for classical composers fun.

H is a note... It's like... just because we use the left side of the road, it doesn't mean that driving on the right is wrong. IN FACT that's the common way. Same with notes.

I'm not saying 'abandon B and use H...' I just mean, BE AWARE and don't be ingorant.

In such notation You get H and then B (which we call B sharp)

You're hard work, at the end of the day, you made a simple answer complete rubbish.

That's the end of my input on this subject, its been fun. Stick to helping people with things you know enough about to actually help them, rather than trying to be smart for your own self indulgence.
